Bubblin Dublin

Updated: Jul 30, 2023

Dublin is a beautiful city, with its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture. One of the highlights of my recent visit to the city was a trip to the Guinness factory museum, which was a captivating place for a scientist like myself. However, the unexpected delight of my visit was the in-house acoustic band playing music through the bottom to top of the building. 🍀

The Guinness factory museum, also known as the Guinness Storehouse, is located in the heart of Dublin, near the famous St. James's Gate brewery, where Guinness has been brewed since 1759. As soon as I entered the museum, I was struck by its impressive design. The museum is housed in a seven-story building that is shaped like a pint glass, and it is the largest beer-related attraction in the world. 🍻

As I made my way through the museum, I was fascinated by the various exhibits and displays that showcased the history and science of brewing beer. The museum is not just a place to learn about Guinness, but also a place to learn about the art and science of brewing beer in general. 🌊

One of the exhibits that particularly caught my attention was the "Brewing Process" exhibit, which walked visitors through the various stages of brewing Guinness, from the selection of the raw materials to the fermentation and maturation of the beer. As a scientist, I was intrigued by the precision and attention to detail that is required in the brewing process, and I was impressed by the advanced technology and equipment that is used to ensure consistency and quality. 🫠

Another delightful surprise was the beautiful St Stephen's Green. Located in the heart of Dublin, St Stephen's Green is a stunning public park that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is known for its beautifully landscaped gardens, stunning sculptures, and historic monuments. It's a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike, and it's easy to see why. 🌼

As I strolled through the park, I was struck by its beauty and serenity. The vibrant colours of the flowers and foliage created a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city. I was also impressed by the variety of trees and plants, which ranged from exotic species to native Irish flora. It was clear that a lot of thought and care had gone into designing and maintaining the park. 🏞️

Another highlight of the park was the many statues and monuments, which paid tribute to the many notable figures in Irish history. The most impressive of these was the imposing statue of the famous Irish writer James Joyce, which was located near the park's main entrance. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁮󠁩󠁲󠁿

Overall, my visit to St Stephen's Green was a delightful surprise and a welcome respite from the city's busy streets. The park's tranquil beauty and peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. And when combined with a visit to the Guinness factory museum, it made for a perfect day of science, history, and natural beauty in the heart of Dublin.
