About Me

The World at Your Fingertips

Hi! I am a scientist in the exciting field of biotechnology who feels incredibly fortunate to combine my passion for science with my love of travel. With a keen eye for discovery, I have dedicated my life to exploring the wonders of the world and unlocking the secrets of the universe. 🥼🧭

From bustling cities to remote corners of the globe, I have been privileged to experience a myriad of cultures and environments, all while pursuing scientific endeavors. 🗺️

But it's not just the science that excites me. As I travel, I revel in the beauty of the people I meet along the way. From fellow scientists to local inhabitants, I believe that every person has a unique story to share, and strives to learn as much as I can from such encounters. 🫂

In my free time, I love to immerse myself in the local culture, try new foods, attend concerts, and explore the great outdoors. With a deep appreciation for the natural world, I find joy in hiking, swimming, and getting lost in nature. 🍃

In all of my pursuits, I am driven by a deep sense of curiosity and a desire to make a positive impact on the world. Through my work in biotechnology and my travels, I hope to help uncover solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges and inspire others to follow their dreams, wherever they may lead. 🌎

90 Day Schengen Rule

Did someone say visa?

Travelling is returning to its normal rhythm following the post-pandemic era. Though it still doesn't hurt to check out the guidelines for your destination of choice at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice. ⛑️

Another hurdle to consider is the 90-Day Schengen Rule if you are a Non-EU traveller. This is because travellers from a non-EU country can remain in the EU Schengen Zone for 90 days in a 180-day period without requiring a visa or a residency permit. The 90 days can be spent during one single stay or in a series of short stays. 🇪🇺

Following the completion of the 90 days, Non-EU citizens must leave the continent, rather than move to a different country within the EU. Then, wait for at least 90 days before returning. 🚷

The EU Schengen Zone comprises the following countries: Austria 🇦🇹, Belgium 🇧🇪, Croatia 🇭🇷, Czech Republic 🇨🇿, Denmark 🇩🇰, Estonia 🇪🇪, Finland 🇫🇮, France 🇫🇷, Germany 🇩🇪, Greece 🇬🇷, Hungary 🇭🇺, Iceland 🇮🇸, Italy 🇮🇹, Latvia 🇱🇻, Liechtenstein 🇱🇮, Lithuania 🇱🇹, Luxembourg 🇱🇺, Malta 🇲🇹, Netherlands 🇳🇱, Norway 🇳🇴, Poland 🇵🇱, Portugal 🇵🇹, Slovakia 🇸🇰, Slovenia 🇸🇮, Spain 🇪🇸, Sweden 🇸🇪 and Switzerland 🇨🇭.

This rule applies to those with passports from countries within Annex II ( positive list) like Britain, Canada, America, New Zealand, Australia, Northern Ireland, Turkey and Ireland. 🏳️‍

So, ALWAYS make sure to get your passport stamped at the border control when exiting an EU country! ⚠️

If you are a frequent traveller to the EU, there are apps you can utilise to keep track of the Schengen days you have left after each visit to the EU Schengen Zone. I personally use the '90 Days Schengen' App as I have an Android. Those with iPhones can download the App 'Schengen Calculator 90/180' from the Apple store.💫

Stay safe and enjoy your travels 🧚‍♀️
